Pushkar’s records were once played on WRPI-Troy 91.5 FM (www.wrpi.org) of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Troy, New York, a popular radio station in the Upstate New York region, in the show titled ‘Melodies of India’, a popular 15 year old show based on Indian Classical Music. Immediately after the music was over, the DJ was bombarded with phone calls from both American and Indian listeners. They asked that how they had never heard of this ‘senior’ artiste before and thought that the artist must be in his forties. They were shocked to hear that it was indeed a 24 year old artiste. “Nature indeed makes miracles”, was all that the DJ could say to the listeners!
